Fishers Police: Man rammed into officer's vehicle, fled the scene

FISHERS, Ind. -- Fishers Police arrested a man Sunday morning after they say he rammed into an officer's vehicle then fled.

Police were called to the McDonald's at 96th St. and I-69 around 10:30 a.m. after employees became concerned about a suspicious man parked in a black Jeep Cherokee.

According to officers, the suspect put his Jeep into reverse and rammed into a police SUV.

He then drove a short distance before running over a curb, damaging his vehicle.

The suspect then got out and tried to carjack two occupied cars. He was arrested after a brief chase.

Police later discovered suspect's Jeep was stolen during a carjacking Saturday night in Marion county.

Gregory Gardner II, 25, of Indianapolis, was treated for wrist pain at the scene and taken to the Hamilton County Jail.

Gardner was charged with several felonies including criminal recklessness, receiving stolen property, resisting law enforcement and robbery.
