Former Lt. Gov. begins new job as Ivy Tech president

INDIANAPOLIS -- Friday was the first day on the job for Ivy Tech's new president.

Sue Ellspermann spent the month of June visiting Ivy Tech campuses around the state.

Ellspermann says she came away with a better understanding of how those locations meet the needs of their region.

She says the goals and roles of Ivy Tech are changing with the times.

Thursday, the Ivy Tech Board of Trustees approved a three-year contract for Ellspermann.

She will earn $300,000 a year.
