Hospitals across Indianapolis welcome first babies born in 2026

INDIANAPOLIS — Hospitals throughout the Circle City are welcoming the first babies born in 2026.

Here's a look at some of the babies and their families.

Franciscan Health Indianapolis
Franciscan Health Indianapolis shared that it welcomed its first baby born in 2026 early on Thursday morning.

Baby Talbott, the son of Laci Rush and Quentin Talbott, was born at 1:16 a.m., weighing in at eight pounds, three ounces, and measuring at 20 inches long.

Community Health Network
Charles Washington Murray IV, the first 2026 New Year’s baby for Community, was born at 3:33 a.m. at Community Hospital South.

Baby Murray weighed six pounds, 4.2 ounces, and is 20 inches long. He is the son of Victoria Faubion and Charles Washington Murray III of Beech Grove. Community Health shared baby Murray will soon meet his brother, who celebrated his fourth birthday on New Year's Eve.

Lucas Godby was born at 7:35 a.m. at Community North Hospital. Weighing 6 pounds, 12 ounces, and measuring in at 20 inches long, he is the firstborn child of parents Mason and Ashley Godby.

Community Health shared that Lucas' dad, Mason, works security at Community Health North.

Baby girl R’ielle Faith Smith was born at 8:02 a.m. at Community Hospital East. She weighed six pounds, 11.7 ounces, and measured 19 inches long.

Her parents, Barret Keys and Rico Smith, will tak her home in Indianapolis to meet her two sisters.

Eskenazi Health
Eskenazi Health shared that the first New Year's baby was a girl, Maisey Lioralene Calderon. She was born at 4:52 a.m., weighing six pounds eight ounces, and measuring 19 inches long. Mom, Dad and baby are doing very well.
