INDIANAPOLIS -- A professor at Franklin College decided he just couldn't sit back and do nothing in the wake of the mass shooting in Orlando.
Dr. John Shafer, who's the head of counseling at the college, is a member of a group that responds and helps victims of national disasters.
When he didn't get the call, he decided he still needed to go to Orlando so he purchased his own plane ticket.
RTV6's Lauren Casey caught up with Shafer at the Indianapolis airport as he was getting ready to leave Wednesday.
