FRANKLIN, Ind. -- Franklin Community Schools will be increasing its security after an online threat was discovered Thursday night.

At about 11 p.m. Thursday, the school heard from multiple students who noticed a threat of violence another student had made on Twitter.

The student who made the Twitter post was interviewed by Franklin police and released to a parent.

A Franklin school official said both the police and the school corporation believe the threat has been mitigated.

Despite their beliefs, there will be an increased police presence at the district for the rest of the semester, which is May 24 for students.

School officials thanked the students who noticed the post for notifying the school administrators.
