INDIANAPOLIS -- In honor of Visit Indiana week, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources is offering free admission to all locations on Sunday, May 7.
Indiana is home to more than 20 state parks which are located throughout the state.
The free admission day is also the last day of “Let’s Camp America! Weekend,” a nationwide initiative of the National Association of State Parks Directors.
The parks closest to Indianapolis include:
- Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis
- Mounds State Park in Anderson
- Turkey Run State Park in Marshall
- Shades State Park in Waveland
- Brown County State Park in Nashville
Indiana State Parks are open year-round.ach property boasts its own amenities from hiking trails to fishing to camping and more. Park admission is $7 for in-state vehicles and $9 for out-of-state vehicles but will be free of charge on Sunday, May 7, 2017.
