INDIANAPOLIS – A program aimed to bring fresh foods to some of the city’s food deserts provided bags of vegetables to the community Friday afternoon.
Community Health and Brandywine Creek Farms teamed up to deliver fresh vegetables to those on Indy’s east side at The Cupboard Food Pantry. Nearly 1,500 pounds of food was delivered and others stood in line to load their bags.
"I'm a vegetable person. I like cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash whatever,” said Bridgette Miller.
All eligible people received four tomatoes, two zucchinis, onions and cucumbers.
