INDIANAPOLIS — Funeral services for David R. Short II, an Indianapolis Fire Department recruit, will be held Friday.
According to a release from IFD, calling will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Traders Point Christian Church. Short II's funeral will begin at noon Friday at the church, which is located at 1201 N. Delaware St.
Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery at 10612 E. Washington St. with a meal at Little Flower Catholic School, 1401 N. Bosart Ave.
Short II, 26, was a recruit firefighter who was assigned to IFD on Feb. 25. He attended Little Flower Catholic School and Scecina Memorial High School, and later worked at Jockamo's Upper Crust Pizza before deciding he wanted to join the fire department.
He died Friday following a four-car crash near Indianapolis Regional Airport in McCordsville.
