KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. – Hundreds of people gathered at the iconic Hoosier Gym Monday to remember Dylan Hiner, a student and star basketball player who died in a crash last week.
People in attendance said Hiner was the “life of the party” and “always happy.”
A procession of police cars and fire trucks are expected to join Hiner’s services for one last ride past the Hoosier Gym Tuesday – his favorite place to play basketball.
"That's where Dylan developed the passion. This was a place to go when he didn't have an outside court,” said John Walters, Hiner’s uncle, who was joined by family members. “He could absolutely walk in here at any time and to some extent they would usher him out so it was really a home away from home for him.”
The student’s funeral services will be held Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m. at Knighstown High School.
