INDIANAPOLIS -- Students at Perry Meridian's 6th Grade Academy now have a meaningful memory as they walk down the halls of their school.
Jasmine Alday-Rodriguez walked those same halls before tragically passing away in a car crash just before Christmas last year.

Her classmates and friends remember her as a king-hearted girl and great student.
As those students moved on to the 7th grade, they wanted to do something to remember their friend.
So they came up with the idea to create a memorial garden around a bench with her name on it. The students raised more than $2,000 for the project by holding a fundraiser that allowed students to pay to wear jeans to class.
