ZIONSVILLE, Ind. -- Google Trekker is crisscrossing Indiana this summer, mapping out the state's parks and trails.

There are 15 cameras inside the Trekker that simultaneously take a photo every 2.5 seconds creating a 360 degree panoramic view.

Once they're done in Indiana, it will take 6 to 12 months for Google to process all the images.

Faces will be blurred for privacy reasons as well as other identifying images like license plates.

The final product will allow people to actually see Indiana's parks and trails, just like street view on Google maps.

Lisa Nye, Executive Director of the Indiana Park & Recreation Association says their goal in bringing the Google Trekker to Indiana has to do with health and sedentary lifestyles, "The Google Trekker program allows us to show Hoosiers all the amazing trails, greenways, waterways and parks available to them in an effort to get citizens to unplug, and go out and get active," said Nye.
