Governor Pence heads to Japan for trade mission

Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- Governor Mike Pence is traveling to Japan for a week-long trade mission aimed at bringing jobs and investment to Indiana.

First Lady Karen Pence and 36 business and community leaders are joining him on the trip. The delegates plan to attend the Midwest US-Japan Association Conference and meet with representatives in the auto industry.

Gov. Pence said he is excited about the opportunity to tell Indiana’s story.

"I think one of the reasons why, since the 1980s, Indiana has had such a warm and productive relationship with the people of Japan is because we understand the importance of personal relationships,” he said.

Private donations to the Indiana Economic Development Foundation are covering the cost of the trip.
