61-year-old Marion man killed in two-vehicle crash

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. -- A 61-year-old Marion man was killed and two kids and an adult were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning.

Indiana State Police and the Grant County Sheriff's Department were called to Kem Road near Troy Avenue after a Cadillac and Ford Explorer collided around 8:10 a.m. 

The driver of the Ford Explorer, James Bartrum, 61, was taken to a Marion hospital where he died from his injuries. 

The driver of the Cadillac, Weston James, 45, and his 3-year-old son were both flow to a Ft. Wayne hospital for treatment. James suffered multiple fractures to his lower legs and his son suffered a facial fracture. Their conditions are not known at this time.

A 13-year-old passenger in the Cadillac was taken to a Marion hospital with a bruised lung and a laceration to his face. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Grant County Sheriff's Department and Indiana State Police.
