63-year-old killed in Grant County crash

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. -- A 63-year-old man is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Grant County early Saturday morning. 

The crash happened just before 6 a.m. on SR 26 just west of SR 13. 

According to the Grant County Sheriff's Department, investigators determined that a 21-year-old driving a Dodge Nitro was traveling west on SR 26 when he crossed the center and struck a Ford Focus. 

The driver of the Focus, Rick Hodson, 63, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The 21-year-old was treated for non-life threatening injuries. 

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, however, toxicology results are pending. 

The accident remains under investigation by the Grant County Sheriff's Department.
