GAS CITY, Ind. -- Two brothers and a dog were found dead inside a home after a house fire in Gas City early Saturday morning.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 100 block of West G Street just before 7 a.m.

According to Gas City Fire Chief David Linn, the home was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived on the scene. It took firefighters roughly two hours to get the fire at the two-story home under control.

Chief Linn said two bodies were found inside the home after the fire.

The Grant County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as 60-year-old Douglas Simon and 53-year-old Bruce Simon.

Fire officials say the fire started on the main floor and spread to the second floor.

The fire is not suspicious at this time but the cause remains under investigation by the Gas City Fire Department and the Indiana State Fire Marshall's office.

Chief Linn said there were no working smoke detectors inside the home.
