INDIANAPOLIS – Two more Marsh Supermarkets are closing their doors.

The stores located on State Road 9 in Greenfield and at 21st Street and Post Road in Indianapolis will close May 6, according to store employees.

A handful of other locations announced closings earlier this year. The store on Madison Avenue closed on March 25 and the Nora Corners Shopping Center store off East 86th Street closed April 8.

A Marsh spokesperson said many of the locations are closing due to weak performance.

Marsh opened their first location in Muncie in 1931, and the company is headquartered in Indianapolis.

The chain has around 70 Marsh Supermarkets and O'Malia Food Markets in Indiana and Ohio.
