GREENWOOD, Ind. -- In a race against time, 10 hairstylists at the Great Clips on Independence Drive in Greenwood spent Saturday trying to break a world record.
They had to do more than 375 haircuts in eight hours.
It's not only a record-breaking attempt, it's also for a good cause. The day was also a fundraiser for Riley Children's Hospital.
To break a Guiness World Record, an official has to monitor the attempt.
"There are about 1,000 new record applications every week globally," the official said. "Of those thousand, less than five percent actually achieve the new record."
The previous record was currently held in Sydney, Australia, set in 2013.
We will update this story with whether or not they actually broke the record.
