GREENWOOD, Ind. -- The same man was arrested twice in the same day in Greenwood for the same offense.
According to a police report filed by the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, William Kelso was pulled over by a deputy while driving a maroon Pontiac last Thursday morning around 8 a.m. at the intersection of County Line Road and State Route 135. The deputy had recognized Kelso and confirmed through his license plate that he was driving on a suspended license, which had been previously reported on June 15.
Kelso told the deputy that he knows he's not supposed to drive, but he needs to work. He was arrested and taken to the Johnson County Jail.
Later that day, the same deputy saw the same maroon Pontiac at the same intersection of County Line and SR 135, and believed he recognized Kelso as the driver. The deputy confirmed through jail records that Kelso had been released from the jail that morning.
The deputy followed the car until it stopped in the 300 block of Shady Brook Heights and saw Kelso get out of the car. He asked Kelso what he was doing, to which Kelso replied he had to get his car home.
Kelso was arrested again for driving on a suspended license and booked into the Johnson County Jail.
