FISHERS, Ind. -- Construction has officially begun on the site of the new Portillo's in Fishers.
The Chicago-based company announced earlier this year that they would be opening their newest restaurant in Fishers this fall.
City leaders joined the Portillo's crew as they broke ground on the site on East 116th Street Friday morning.
Portillo's is popular for its hot dogs, burgers and other Chicago-style foods.
The company has not announced an official opening date but they have said they plan to open their newest location sometime this fall.
