INDIANAPOLIS — Habitat for Humanity is kicking off its 2020 'Women Build Project' in the Indianapolis area.
On Wednesday, the organization held an event downtown to raise awareness about this year's program.
This year a group of all-women volunteers will build two homes in 12 weeks. They will be built side by side, on the near north side of the city.
The soon-to-be homeowners attended the event, as well.
"It's even better because the women are building it I couldn't be more happier," Laquinta Humprey, a future homeowner, said. "I was like, 'yes women! we're going to tell you how to do it!'"
The organization hopes to raise $200,000 in contribution this year.
