HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. -- You can have a night out filled with wine, gourmet food, all while helping dogs and cats get a second chance at life.

"Wine, Wags and Whiskers" is a wine tasting put on by the Humane Society for Hamilton County. But, that's not all.

All of the money raised at the event goes to the Humane Society's Senior Program. That program helps nearly 3,000 pets in Hamilton County who are older, and in many cases, have endured a life of abuse.

Executive Director of the Humane Society for Hamilton County, Rebecca Stevens, says the funds raised will help rehabilitate those dogs and cats, with the hope those pets can find a forever home.

"Wine, Wags and Whiskers" will also feature very unique wine. In fact, many bottles have a label featuring a dog or cat in need of a home, with each pet's name as part of the wine name. For example, you can get a bottle of "Z'Ann-Gria", "Tinki's Ain't No Stray Chardonnay", or even "Ralph's Chianti Kid".

"Wine, Wags and Whiskers" is Friday, May 11, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Renaissance Hotel in Carmel.
