CARMEL, Ind. -- Carmel-based author Pres Maxson has self-published his second novel, Pigeon. Following the lead of his first book, Bender at the Bon Parisien, Maxson’s latest novel also takes place in the iconic city of Paris.
Pigeon follows a busboy as he is mistakenly identified as the world’s greatest private detective and then hired at an ultra-elite social club.
He's tasked with finding a trophy that was stolen decades earlier for a sport called plouquette, which no one outside the club has ever heard of.
The busboy navigates the world of the elite, encountering exotic pets, gargantuan egos and enough plot twists to keep him guessing in his quest to find out what happened to the Waterford Cup and the three men who supposedly stole it.
“It’s a satirical glimpse at how the .01 percent lives behind our backs – but its largely absurdist,” said author Pres Maxon.
A fiction novel, “I wanted to let my imagination run free,” he said. “There’s a lot of silliness in it; it’s a light read.”
Maxon's target readers are ages 30+. You can purchase his book on Amazon or locally at Indy Reads Books.
Maxson received a Master’s in Business Administration from Butler University and currently works as a copywriter in Indianapolis.
