CARMEL, Ind. -- Carmel has dethroned Fishers as the best place to live in the U.S., according to a new study released by Niche.

Niche released on Wednesday their list of the 2018 Best Places To Live in. Carmel finished first on Niche's list last year, too, but other lists have put Fishers in the top spot.

The Niche rankings explore 15,000+ cities, towns, and neighborhoods nationwide based on factors such as education, cost of living, diversity, crime, health of the community, jobs availability, commute times, walkability, leisure activities and, yes, the weather. Data was analyzed from the U.S. Census, FBI, CDC, and Dept. of Ed., along with millions of resident reviews.

Carmel received an overall A+ grade by Niche. Its lowest score was, yep, the weather.

Fishers ranked #17 on the list.
