FISHERS, Ind. -- Improvements are in store for Fishers' Nickel Plate Amphitheater.
On Monday, the Fishers Department of Public Works approved a contract with Ratio Architects for renovations.
The firm plans to expand the amphitheater stage and create a new backdrop. They also plan to build a separate building to house public restrooms, as well as make adjustments to four nearby parking lots.
The Nickel Plate Amphitheater has become a popular venue in downtown Fishers for live concerts and movie screenings.
The proposed budget for the upgrades is $6 million which will need to be approved by the full council.
The city hopes to have work completed by Spring of 2018.
