FISHERS, Ind. -- Volkswagen enthusiasts from across the Midwest will descend on Indianapolis Metropolitan Airport in Fishers on October 14 for Volktoberfest 2017.
Circle City Volkswagen Club will host the unique car show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
According to a Facebook page for the event, Tom Wood will have its private collection of War Birds on display in the hangar for all to view. There will be airplane rides available for visitors, described by organizers as a great way to get aerial shots of the show.
There will be also be a display of new Volkswagen, Audi and Porsches provided by the various Tom Wood dealerships. Entertainment will be provided by a DJ throughout the event.
There will be a swap meet area for VW treasure hunting. Organizers said they will be hosting food vendors again this year, including Granite City Brewery.
The event is free for all ages but organizers are accepting donations to help cover costs and support a charity.
This year, a portion of the proceeds from Volktoberfest will support the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation (HVAF), a not-for-profit organization providing food, shelter and other support for Hoosier Veterans.
Organizers are asking visitors to consider bringing a non-perishable food item to donate to the cause. They will also be raffling off some items with a portion of the proceeds going to HVAF.
This year, in addition to the food drive, there will also be a bloodmobile on site for anyone who would like to donate blood and help save lives.
