NOBLESVILLE — The parents of the Noblesville Middle School shooter are responding to allegations made against them in a lawsuit filed by the parents of one of the victims.

Student Ella Whistler and teacher Jason Seaman were wounded last May when the suspect opened fire in a school classroom.

In November, parents Cory and Julia Whistler filed a civil lawsuit against the mother and father of the shooter.

The Whistlers are seeking unspecified damages and are requesting a trial, as are the parents of the shooter.

In their response to the suit, filed in Hamilton County Superior Court, the parents of the shooter admit their son knew where a gun safe was located in their house.

They deny their son is a “severely troubled person with personality disorders,” and that he had mental health issues at the time of the shooting.
