CARMEL — Tyler Trent's "Celebration of Life" was at his home church in Carmel, on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old became an international superstar for his courageous fight against cancer and his passionate appeal to raise money for research and families in need.

One of Tyler's brothers, Ethan Trent, reminded the world of his impact.

"Tyler was loved by so many because he loved so many so well," he said. "Tyler would want you to share your purpose of living."

Tyler died on New Year's Day after a five year battle with a rare form of bone cancer.

His vocal fight to find a cure with his signature smile and courage became the inspiration for fellow Purdue classmates and the football team.

"Thank you, Tyler, for fighting the good fight. Keeping the faith. Love you brother," said Purdue quarterback, David Blough.

The service also included a videotaped message from Tyler who reminded all to live life to the fullest.

"The option for me is to sit around, do nothing, or do something," Tyler had said in one of the videos.

Tyler Trent's uncle, Todd Trent, stepped up to the podium as well. "We will miss you dearly, but you are now in arms of Jesus. No more suffering, no more tears, no more cancer."

The legacy of Purdue's Super Fan is on track to make money to help families and cancer research. Trent's book will be out soon — with hopes of raising a million dollars.

Tyler Trent's church says people who wish to send a condolence message to the family can email: tylerstrong@yourchurch.com.

Tyler's vigil will be Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Purdue University.
