GREENFIELD, Ind. -- A 70-year-old Hancock County man was killed Monday evening when a tree branch fell on him.
The Hancock County Coroner has identified the man as Robert "Ted" Smith, 70. Smith is the owner of Smith Implements in Greenfield.
The coroner says Smith was cutting wood when a branch fell and struck him in the head.
Family members say he liked to chop wood for exercise and he left around 2:30 Sunday afternoon. But when he didn't return home his brother went looking for him. He found him around 9 p.m. in the woods nearby his home off Thomas Road.
Funeral arrangements have not been released.
