GREENFIELD, Ind. -- The Hancock County Sheriff's Department launched an investigation this week into the death of a 2-month-old child in Fountaintown.
Shortly before noon Wednesday, the child's mother called 911 after reportedly finding the infant unresponsive and not breathing.
The mother performed CPR until EMS arrived on the scene – at which point the child was rushed to Hancock regional Hospital in Greenfield. Attempts to revive the child were unsuccessful.
An autopsy was scheduled to determine the child's cause of death. Police said there was no indication of foul play at this time.
