HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. -- A blood drive will be held on September 16 at the Hancock County Family Safety Day to honor a teenager tragically killed in late July.
Riley Settergren was involved in an accident involving farm equipment and a pick-up truck.
Investigators said Settergren was in the pick-up truck when a farmer driving a crop sprayer crept out past the stop sign while looking for traffic. Officials said his vision was blocked by the cornfield when the crash happened.
Settergren was killed in the accident. Two others were injured.
The Eastern Hancock High School student was on the football, track and wrestling teams.
The blood drive in memory of Settergren will be held on Saturday, September 16.
The event goes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Greenfield Walmart parking lot and will take place inside an Indiana Blood Center Bloodmobile.
