HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. -- Jeff Eggers, an attorney from Franklin, was appointed to the position by the Indiana Supreme Court last week.

Eggers will fill the vacancy created when Circuit Judge Richard Culver retired from the bench after almost 30 years to accept a job in the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office.

It will be the fourth-time Eggers has served as a judge.  He served with the Johnson County Superior Court from 1982-87 and with the Circuit Court in Johnson County from 1987-94.  F

or the last year, Eggers was an interim judge in Morgan County Superior Court, also an appointment by the state Supreme Court, until that seat was permanently filled last month.

Eggers will serve in Hancock County until Governor Holcomb appoints a replacement or until voters choose a new judge in 2018.
