INDIANAPOLIS -- Heavy downpours across Central Indiana transformed much of Indianapolis' streets into deep lakes for several hours Friday evening.
Indianapolis police asked all people to stay home and for drivers near deep waters, to turn around.
ALERT: Streets are flooded all over the city, do not drive into high water. Law enforcement resources are stretched thin, stay home.

Cones and barricades were placed in high water areas, but some of them were being carried away.
This can't be good. But seriously, they were blocking off a big hole. #INwx @rtv6 pic.twitter.com/TcpgWLd2DZ

Cars were trapped in parking lots as the city gained one inch of rain in just the first 30 minutes.
