AVON, Ind. -- The town of Avon is adding miles and miles of walking and biking trails to help connect the community.
The most recent addition is the paving of the trail from Washington Township Park to Town Hall Park. It’s so new the pedestrian signal at the new crosswalk on U.S. 36 hasn’t been installed yet.
The community also recently completed the bicentennial trail between Avon and Brownsburg.
Over the past year, the town has added 11 miles of trails to help connect the community’s neighborhoods.
Town Manager Tom Klein says Avon was just incorporated in 1995, so they have some catching up to do. More trail work is planned for 2018.
