ANDERSON, Ind. -- It's been a journey of thousands of miles for a young boy, but his new family says he's settling in and adjusting well to his new life after being adopted from an orphanage in Ethiopia.
4-year-old Genene is learning English and trying new food, but parents Jon and Rachel Oren say the biggest challenge for their new son is being part of a family.
"Trying to get him to understand we love you and we're going to take care of you and we're preferential over a really nice man at the store or a friend or a grandparent or an aunt or an uncle," said Rachel Oren. "Trying to really establish what the concept of family is."
