BROWNSBURG, Ind. -- Driving north and south through Hendricks County is now a little easier.
Ronald Reagan Parkway is now open all the way from I-74 to I-70.
The last 1.7 mile stretch of highway, near I-74, opened within the past week.
This includes bridges over US 136 and the railroad tracks.
This has been a long time coming.
Planning for the 12-mile Parkway started in the mid-1980s.
A spokesperson for the town of Brownsburg tells us plans are already in the works for the next phase, to connect the north end of the Parkway which now stops at 56th Street, into Boone County and I-65.
