INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana State Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident on the Indianapolis south side that sent a man to the hospital with critical injuries.

It happened Monday at about 6:45 p.m. on the ramp from I-65 northbound to 465 eastbound.

According to ISP, 59-year-old Michael Moore of Centerville in Wayne County, had gotten out of his car to check on a possible tire issue when he was struck. Police found Moore lying on the road.

The vehicle which hit Moore did not stop and left the scene. Two other people in the disabled vehicle witnessed the accident.

At this time there is no vehicle description available. The striking vehicle should have damage to the front passenger side, possibly a broken headlight, according to ISP.
