INDIANAPOLIS -- The week of March 7 is Peyton Manning Appreciation Week in Indianapolis.
Mayor Joe Hogsett issued the proclamation right after Manning announced his retirement from football on Monday.

The proclamation highlights Manning's time as a Colt, winning Super Bowl XLI, and the time he dedicated both on and off the field to the citizens of central Indiana and Indianapolis.
Hogsett asked everyone to show their thanks for Manning's contributions to the community by posting on social media using the hashtag #IndyLovesPeyton.
