GREENWOOD, Ind. -- A group of homeschooled students from Greenwood will defend their championship title this weekend in the Tech Challenge Championship at Crawfordsville High School.
The “Mecha-Hamsters” are the reigning robotics champs in Indiana and won a similar competition in Kentucky earlier this month.
The six students built a robot from scratch using only salvaged parts.
The group will compete against more than 30 mostly school-funded teams from across the state to prove that their robot is the best.
The Mecha-Hamsters are hoping their robot will get them to the world championship round.
