INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana Senator Dan Coats spoke on the Senate floor Thursdsay to honor Susan Jordan, the Amy Beverland Elementary School principal who was killed in a bus crash at the school earlier this week.
“The Gospel of John tells us ‘greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends,’” Coats said.

"The love that Susan Jordan had for her students should be an inspiration to us all. I offer my deepest condolences to Principal Jordan’s family and friends and to the students and parents of Amy Beverland Elementary School. I join with all Hoosiers in mourning the loss of Susan Jordan and celebrating the life and impact of this talented, compassionate educator who paid the ultimate price for the students she loved so dearly.”
Many others have honored Jordan by donating books to the Amy Beverland Elementary School library or other libraries in the districts.

Those who are unable to donate books can also honor Jordan by donating to the Susan Jordan Memorial Fundat the Lawrence Township Foundation or to the Make a Wish Foundation.
