HOWARD COUNTY, Ind. -- Howard County is on pace to set a record in 2017, but it's not a record officials want to break.
So far, 17 people have died from overdoses in the county. In 2016, the total number of overdose deaths was in the mid-20's.
The Howard County Coroner says fentanyl was detected in five of the overdose deaths this year.
It's 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine.
