Remains found in rural Shelby Co. belong to white female

SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. -- Human remains that were found in Shelby County on Monday belong to a white female, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.

Major Louie Koch says the remains have not been identified and the sheriff's department has no further information to release at this time.

Anthropologists from the University of Indianapolis and detectives excavated the remains which were discovered in the southwest portion of the county on Monday.
