NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- More than 300 people turned out Friday to raise money in memory of IMPD Officer Jake Laird.
Laird was killed in the line of duty by a mentally ill man on the south side of Indianapolis.
Police, firefighters, friends and family spent the day Friday playing golf and raising money for police officers in need, new programs and new police equipment.
Laird's father says his son was an avid golfer who loved to have a good time, and that's what the annual golf outing is about.
