DALE, Ind. -- A husband and wife were discovered dead in their Spencer County home Tuesday night in what is suspected to be a murder-suicide.
Spencer County Sheriff's deputies were asked to do a welfare check just before 11:00 p.m. Tuesday on William and Martha Lamar of Dale, Indiana.
After receiving no answer at the door, deputies forced their way in, where they discovered William Lamar, 74, deceased in the living room and Martha Lamar, 68, deceased in the kitchen.
Both are believed to have died of gunshot wounds on or around June 29.
Police said they believe Martha Lamar shot and killed her husband before taking her own life.
