Posted

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. -- One person was flown by medical helicopter from the scene of a four car crash on I-65 Thursday.

According to a press release from Indiana State Police, traffic stopped in a construction zone near the 84 mile marker for an unknown reason.  A southbound dump truck could not stop before hitting a car that was stopped in the traffic.

That car then hit another car that was also stopped in traffic. The debris from that crash caused damage to a fourth car in the area.

The driver of the car hit by the dump truck was flown from the scene by a helicopter. It is unknown what that person's condition is.

No other people were injured in the crash.

I-65 SB lanes in the area were shut down for approximately one hour after the crash.
