INDIANAPOLIS -- The ramp of I-70 westbound was closed near I-465 due to an overturned semi on the city's west side for several hours Saturday morning.

According to the Indiana State Police, the driver was driving down the ramp and may have been driving too fast for conditions.

The driver told police he hit a patch of black ice on the overpass and started sliding as he was getting on ramp.

Police say the driver was carrying paper products and his load may have shifted, which may have contributed to the accident.

The driver was up and walking at the scene, but was taken to the hospital. He was complaining of chest and rib pain.

Indiana State Police worked nine crashes Saturday that had slick conditions has a contributing factor to the crash.
