INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Black Expo’s 47th annual Summer Celebration kicked off its second weekend of events Friday.

The expo hall opened to the public at noon and a corporate luncheon honored music and TV stars like actor Taye Diggs and singer Johnny Gill.

Thousands of people gathered at the American Legion Mall for the first Music Heritage Festival that featured Johnny Gill, Zapp and Atlantic Starr that evening.

The second Music Heritage Festival will take place Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and feature music artists like Babyface, Fantasia and Chante Moore. The concert will be followed by the “All White Affair,” an after party.
