INDIANAPOLIS -- Police are searching for a man wanted for running from police and firing a gun at them.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are asking for help in finding Kennic Brown, who was identified as a suspect in Tuesday night's incident on Indianapolis' south side.

Brown has active warrants out for resisting law enforcement, drunken driving and possession of a controlled substance.

The encounter began around 8:30 p.m., with officers from IMPD responding to a call about a person with a gun in the 2500 block of Appleton Terrace, on the city's south side.

When they arrived, they saw the suspect, but he sped away.

The officers began chasing the stolen car, which eventually stopped at 1500 Renton Street. Police say that's when someone in the vehicle began shooting at police through the back windshield.

Police also arrested two women in connection with the incident.  Shelby Moors and Sicily Moors are preliminarily charged them with false reporting, obstruction of justice and assisting a criminal.
