INDIANAPOLIS -- Police arrested a burglary suspect Monday night also linked to a shooting near the State Fairgrounds in August.

Colen McDade, 31, was taken into custody after fleeing from police on the 1900 block of East 38th Street.

Officers were called to the area on a report of a burglary in progress. They spotted McDade exiting the residence and gave chase. During the pursuit, police said McDade tossed a 9mm handgun he was carrying.

McDade was discovered to be wanted on multiple outstanding warrants, including attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

Police said he is also suspected in an August 21 shooting near the State Fairgrounds.

McDade was transported to the Marion County Arrestee Processing Center to await formal charges.
