INDIANAPOLIS -- If you live on the northwest side, you may have noticed police, some in cars, some on bicycles. If you did not see them, you likely will soon.
RTV6 rode along with IMPD today as they followed up on the next phase of “Operation First Step”, the sweep that has been nabbing drug and other offenders over the last couple weeks.
IMPD already has arrested 26 drug dealers, and now officers are following up with the community, not just today but on a regular basis. “This is going to become our new norm. The people who are out there, we would love to have the interaction with them,” said IMPD Capt. Fred Ilnicki.
