INDIANAPOLIS -- The man who was shot and killed on the city's northeast side Thursday night has been identified.

The coroner says 32-year-old Edward Rice of Indianapolis died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police found Rice in a car at an apartment complex in the 9000 block of Doral Court shortly after 8:00 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released information about potential suspects, but say it does not appear to be a random act of violence.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477.

This is the third deadly shooting in Indianapolis this week and in 2016.

Terry Williams, 19, was shot and killed Monday night in the 6000 block of Windsor Drive near East 21st And North Arlington.

"He was coming up here to stay with me for just the winter and the spring, and he was having trouble where he was staying, so I brought him here to stay with me," his brother Jermaine Davis said. "I never knew he would get killed."

The next night, a man was shot and killed in the 3300 block of Hovey Street around 10:30 p.m.
